COALITION?
A coalition is a pact or treaty among individuals or groups, during which they cooperate in joint action, each in their own self-interest, joining forces together for a common cause. A coalition thus differs from a more formal covenant. Possibly described as a joining of 'factions', usually those with overlapping interests rather than opposing.
This is the goal behind the Mission Coalition. The Mission Coalition exists to bring together like minded ministries and churches for the sake of the gospel. By coming together for the common cause of helping make disciples, we will be able to accomplish together what is more difficult by ourselves.
VISION
The vision of The Mission Coalition is to be a place where churches, regardless of denominational affiliation, can come together for mission. To make disciples who make disciples. To focus on Kingdom growth not just church growth.
We envision a place where churches can come together to:
* Plant churches
* Start church planting movements
* Partner for local mission
* Share resources
* Provide encouragement and support
Denomination?
The Mission Coalition doesn't desire to be a denomination but rather exactly what our name implies. A coalition is an alliance of distinct parties, persons, or groups for joint action. We don't want to take away the distinctness of the members of The Mission Coalition. We want everyone to remain faithful to their distinct calling and tribe.
However, at the same time, we want to provide a place for those who do not have a specific tribe to belong. A place where they can call home.
BELIEFS
In Essentials Unity, In Non-Essentials Liberty, In All Things Charity
We are going to major on the majors and not on the minors. With that being said, we are not going to shy away from stating what the essentials are. As we work that out over the course of the next few months, below are a few things that we believe sum up what are beliefs are and the beliefs that everyone in the coalition must agree upon.
* The Nicene Creed
* The Apostles Creed
* The Gospel Coalition's Confessional Statement
